The Voice’ shake-up: Reba McEntire replaces Blake Shelton for Season 24

Ever since Blake Shelton announced his retirement from “The Voice” last year, fans have been speculating about which star might replace him in the big red chairs. Well, we finally have an answer: It’s his longtime mate Reba McEntire!

NBC announced Monday on its prequel show that the coaches for Season 24 will be McEntire, Niall Horan, John Legend, and Gwen Stefani. Blind auditions will begin filming soon and will air in fall 2023. Besides Shelton, the current coaches for season 23 are Horan, Kelly Clarkson, and Chance the Rapper.

Reba McIntyre is no stranger to NBC’s reality TV competition series. Most recently, she served as a senior mentor to every coach on Season 23’s Knockout. This was her third time appearing on the show after originally helping Blake’s team during season one and then helping all four coaches in season eight.

Blake Shelton has been a part of “The Voice” since season one. In fact, he is the only coach to have appeared in all 23 tournaments to date. As for the other coaches in Season 24, John Legend is preparing for his eighth season, Gwen Stefani is returning for his seventh, and Niall Horan is returning for his second consecutive season.
